 The C40 Committee is excited to welcome all delegates to ASMMUN 2021! The C40 Climate Leadership Group concerns itself with fighting climate change and driving urban action through municipal jurisdiction. This year, ASM has decided to add the C40 committee to one of the many committees that students have been dedicating themselves to in the past years. It is in this same manner that two topics will be debated in the c40 committee this year.  The European immigration crisis is presumed to have started in 2011, when the Libyan and Syrian wars began and the unrest in the Middle East and Africa heightened. The migrants were aided by ‘smugglers’ who would transport them into the continent via boat or truck. By 2016, more than one million people crossed into Europe, the majority of which took enormous risks and embarked on fatal journeys in efforts to escape armed conflict and strive for a better life.
